David's Story
💙 This #WorldHepatitisDay, #justB storyteller David from Michigan shares what hepatitis B elimination means to him.
🗣️ “Hepatitis B elimination would give great solace and relief to those like myself living with this disease. It would mean no longer having to live with the stigma and discrimination that so many people affected by hepatitis B experience. It would mean that mothers would no longer pass HBV to their children, who currently face a lifetime of living with this disease. It would prevent the millions of deaths that occur when people living with hepatitis B are never diagnosed. Eliminating hepatitis B would mean that all the years I’ve spent advocating on behalf of others were part of something bigger than myself — a movement that helped lead us toward elimination. It would mean everything to me.”
David’s story reminds us that hepatitis B elimination is about protecting future generations, ending stigma and ensuring that everyone affected by hepatitis B has the opportunity to receive a diagnosis, care and support. His advocacy shows the power of lived experience in creating lasting change.

David's Story
💙 This #WorldHepatitisDay, #justB storyteller David Irinam from Nigeria shares what hepatitis B elimination means to him.
🗣️ “Hepatitis B elimination must be a promise we keep, not a slogan we repeat every July 28. It means budget lines for HBV in every state, trained health workers in every PHC, and vaccines that reach the last child in Bekwarra and beyond. Policymakers must sit with communities, not just talk about them. When we fund, plan, and act together, 2030 becomes possible.”
David’s story reminds us that hepatitis B elimination requires meaningful investment, strong health systems and collaboration with the communities most impacted. Ending hepatitis B means turning commitments into action so that prevention, testing and care reach everyone who needs them.

💙 This #WorldHepatitisDay, #justB storyteller Imme from the Philippines shares what hepatitis B elimination means to her.
🗣️ “For me, eliminating hepatitis B is both personal and universal. This condition places a heavy burden on individuals, families, and communities, and ending it means restoring dignity, health, and hope. True elimination requires bold leadership from policymakers and health systems — investing in prevention, integrating treatment into primary care, dismantling stigma and discrimination, and involving patients with the courage to speak out and share their stories. Prince's Story
💙 This #WorldHepatitisDay, #justB storyteller Prince from Nigeria shares what hepatitis B elimination means to him.
🗣️ “For me as a person living with hepatitis B for nearly 40 years now, elimination would mean fairness and justice in care and management. Health systems worldwide, especially in low and middle-income countries, have created huge disparities that limit access to diagnostics and treatment for people living with HBV. To achieve elimination in record time, we must close these systemic gaps and create safe environments free from stigma and discrimination. Elimination is possible, and together, we can achieve it.”
