Zaya’s Story
At a health fair in her local community, Zaya’s blood was tested for hepatitis B and D. The results came back positive for both infections. As a result of the underdeveloped healthcare system in her hometown in Mongolia, there was not the proper birth dose vaccine available to prevent Zaya from being infected by the viruses when she was born. After her diagnosis, Zaya was determined to learn more about hepatitis B and D to help her family and people living in Mongolia and protect her future family.
