LM’s Story

Lydia grew up in a large family where her siblings all looked after each other. At the age of 5, Lydia’s parents died, and she and her siblings were separated between aunts and uncles. However, Lydia’s brother Timothy continued to care for her, even paying for her education which allowed her to go to college. However, Timothy became ill while in college, showing signs of jaundice. After visiting a hospital and a local herbalist, Timothy’s condition worsened. Timothy was admitted to a second hospital where they diagnosed him with hepatitis B, but it was too late to save him. Since Timothy’s passing, Lydia watches over Timothy’s children, teaching them about hepatitis B. The memory of Timothy lives on through a watch Lydia was gifted to her by Timothy for her college graduation.
